Cigarettes with menthol will be banned in Germany

In the estimations of European Commission number of smokers will reduce if cigarettes with menthol will be prohibited. Now Germany adheres to this amendment.

Federal government wants to place on cigarette packs big warning pictures and also prohibit cigarettes with menthol.

"We haven't decided yet what namely will be placed on cigarette packs", - Ministry of consumer protection declared.

"Such pictures will make sense only in case they will really help to avert young people from smoking", - representative of Ministry Holger Eichele declared. - If European Commission confirms positive influence of these pictures, Ministry of consumer protection will openly stand for using this instrument."

Hotly debated draft law stipulates placing on cigarette packs shocking pictures.

Besides, will be allowed only such flavor agents that don't change tobacco aroma. It means that will be prohibited cigarettes with menthol and especially popular among women slims cigarettes.

Menthol and agents similar to menthol suppress natural body protection against smoke inhaling and that is why they facilitate entry of youth on smoker's way.
