Cigarette packs in Australia will be deprived of logos

Cigarettes in Australia will be sold in identical standard packs without showing logo of the manufacturer. About this informs AFP with reference to statement of the Australian prime-minister Kevin Rudd. It is expected that such law will enter into force in 2012.

According to initiative of the government, on cigarette pack will be necessary to make special graphic device that will have tobacco prevention. Brand name Australian authorities will allow to leave only in cut variant.

Besides, it is planned that tax on cigarettes will increase 25 percent. Pack of 30 cigarettes because of innovation will rise in price for 1.85 USD.

Rudd has also promised to realize major anti-tobacco advertisement in the Internet that will cost for authorities 27.8 millions USD.

According to the words of prime-minister, Australia will become first country that has toughened standards of cigarettes packs design so much.
