| Only one person was penalized for smoking in New York for 40 days of banAugust 8, 2011 In spite of initial ostensible dissatisfaction, New York people with understanding and responsibility have treated the fact that in their city from May 23 appeared places where it is prohibited to smoke. These are, mainly, parks. Commissioner of several hundreds of New York parks Adrian Benep has shared to journalists that "in green zones are police officers who when seeing a smoker ask him to butt out and most people obey, and if not - they get receipt for paying the penalty". During the period of ban activity on smoking in parks, pedestrian plazas and on beaches has been made put just one receipt - to some quite obstinate smoker. It appeared to be photo-reporter from newspaper that is used to haggle with officers. 700 people have gotten verbal warnings from police. Mr. Benep has added that personally he, has't seen anybody smoking in the parks. But about ban opponents he has expressed: "These are people that see the meaning of life in running into trouble." In New York live not indifferent people. They show to dog owners that they should remove excrements after their pets. Now, after seeing smoking person in the park most of passerby will consider their duty to rub the breaker's nose in sign "No smoking". |
