On Cyprus for smoking in public place you will have to pay 800 euro

Cyprus Ministry of Health has prepared draft law, according to which amount of penalty for infringing smoking an in public places should be increased from current 85 up to 800 euro. At present moment is being made final completion of document's text.

Within the limits of the law penalty will be toughen both for smokers-infringers and for those who allow them doing this.

Institutions, first of all restaurants and clubs in case of failing to meet the rules can be closed for four days and more.

Law about smoking ban in public places was adopted on Cyprus in January 2010. However, it is infringed everywhere, especially on territory of night clubs. The matter is that from first months of this ban introduction business has lost up to 40 % of profits because of visitors' outflow. As result owners of nightspots began to close eyes to infringements what, most likely, helped them to return Customers.
